Catholic Advocacy Day - February 12, 2012

Save the date February 15, 2012 and join us for Catholic Advocacy Day

Each day, through our shared efforts and commitment, families move into housing, children succeed in school, elders live in security, homeless find shelter and a meal, and addicted and abused are able to find support and counseling.  In countless ways, we fight injustice without losing heart - resist becoming cynical or indifferent and, we show through our actions and words that peace is possible.

Please join us for Catholic Advocacy Day as we gather our faith communities and stand together on behalf of our poorest and most vulnerable neighbors and provide hope for those most in need.

Catholic Advocacy Day will begin at St. Michael Church in Olympia at 8:30am with a Mass celebrated by the Most Reverend Archbishop Sartain.  Check-in begins at 9am and will be followed by a brief training to prepare you and fellow constituents for group visits with your Legislators.  Appointments with Legislators will be scheduled between noon and 3pm.

For more information please contact the Intercommunity Peace and Justice Center at 206.223.1138 or ipjc@ipjc.org.  Please register to participate by January 16, 2012.

We look forward to standing with you in solidarity and hope!

Catholic Advocacy Day is sponsored by the Intercommunity Peace and Justice Center, Washington State Catholic Conference, Catholic Community Services, Archdiocese of Seattle, Pierce County Deanery and St. Vincent de Paul
