Home Advocacy
Catholic Community Services actively engages in advocacy efforts throughout the year. We believe in joining with others to change systems that oppress, discriminate or otherwise cause human suffering. CCS advocate in the halls of government for laws and policies that promote justice and the common good. We are working to end homelessness; to ensure every child grows up in a stable, loving home; to help families overcome poverty and insecurity; and to make sure our elders live in dignity, without fear of impoverishment or isolation.
During the legislative session, our advocacy efforts include participating in Catholic Advocacy Day in partnership with the Washington State Catholic Conference. Catholic Advocacy Day is an impactful opportunity to raise our voices in solidarity as to the plight of the poor and most vulnerable in our communities and to educate our political leaders as to the resources needed to support those we serve.
Catholic Advocacy Day is just one method to get our advocacy message out. Advocacy alerts are also used to identify important issues and mobilize support during legislative sessions. |
