   Valerie called our offices at her wits’ end. 
   She could no longer take care of her elderly
   mother. The daily care-giving tasks for her
   mother left little time for her to tend to the
   needs of her own family.  Her minimum wage
   salary as a cashier was not enough to hire
   extra help.

   Valerie longed for the simple joys of just
   talking and laughing with her mother.  She
   knew that without her help, her mother
   would be unable to stay in her own home,
   but that with her help their relationship
   would continue to fray.

   Valerie thought the choice was between “bad 
   and worse”.  But there was an alternative. 

   Valerie and her mother met with a Catholic
   Community Services Home Care Supervisor
   and made a plan for in-home care...
