Pierce/Kitsap

The Counseling Program has been providing individual, family and group therapy to adults and children in Pierce and Kitsap Counties for over 25 years. Our professional therapists are licensed and have achieved a master’s degree or beyond. We take most insurance and offer a sliding fee scale. We are committed to respectful, compassionate care and are prepared to assist individuals, couples and families with a variety of services that include treatment for:

In addition, in Pierce County we have ongoing group treatment for Anger Management and Positive Parenting.

Counselor: Steve Calvin Steve Calvin, Ph.D., LMHC, is a Counseling Psychologist, trained as a generalist who enjoys working with many different issues, with special interests in Mood, Anxiety, Life-Span development issues, marriage and family, and hypnosis. He is currently the Director of Pierce and Kitsap counseling programs and the Pregnancy Support Counseling program. Steve serves Pierce and Kitsap counties.

Counselor

Joy Sartin has a Master of Arts degree in counseling. She graduated from Washington State University with a B.A. in Social Services, with an emphasis in Psychology. Joy’s training includes various counseling theories with a focus on interpersonal, humanistic, existential and cognitive behavioral models. Joy has experience working with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship issues, domestic violence, life transitions and anger management with individuals and groups.
Counselor: Betty

Betty Millard Stout, M.A., is a registered counselor with more than 20 years of experience in individual, couples and family counseling, as well as parent education and adoption issues. She attended graduate school in San Diego, California, earning her master’s degree in counseling psychology. Her counseling style is relaxed and casual, and she tries to provide an environment that is comfortable, supportive and encouraging. By focusing early on solutions, she acts as a facilitator, helping clients to overcome obstacles and to expand their sense of what is possible in their lives.

Counselor: Catalina Catalina Kirk, M.S.W., has been working in the field for over 15 years as a bilingual (English/Spanish) counselor. She has a special interest in working with recent migrants, community building and political/economic refugees. Cathy uses both office-based and community-based approaches. Cathy services both Pierce and Kitsap counties.
Mary Ellen Johnson, CSC, M.A., is a Licensed Marriage/Family Therapist and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She has been in the field for 20 years. She received her Master's in Psychology at Seattle University. Mary Ellen provides individual, couple and family therapy. Her areas of expertise include communication and relationship issues; depression, anxiety and conflict management; grief therapy; stress management; assertiveness training and coping with life transitions. She focuses on the integration of the whole person: emotional, spiritual, intellectual and physical. Mary Ellen delights in travel, popcorn and classical music. Mary Ellen services East Pierce County.
Gina Holland Gina Holland is the Counseling and Pregnancy Support program receptionist. She always has a friendly smile and is able to assist with scheduling, billing and insurance questions. She has information about parenting and anger management classes, as well as other community resources. Gina can be reached at (253) 502-2696 to schedule for Pierce or Kitsap counties.

Counselor: Roxanne Cull

Roxanne Cull M.A., provides individual, marriage and family therapy using the general therapeutic approach of both Cognitive Behavioral and Solution Focused Brief Therapies.  She focuses on identifying and utilizing personal strengths, values and goals and making healthy choices.  Roxanne is also a Certified Mediator, with advanced training in Cross-Cultural, Family and Parent-Teen Mediation.
