Home Families and Individuals
We believe in healthy family life being affirmed and supported in our communities. We are committed to helping children and families succeed. In Western Washington, the costs of housing and food today force many people to make difficult choices. In two parent families, parents can be forced to make hard choices regarding how they live, where their children go to school, care for their children before or after school.
A single parent faces even more difficult choices. Without two incomes, he or she is forced to stretch money even further.
A family’s inadequate financial resources, a serious illness in a household, or an impending marital breakup have serious and lasting consequences for a family.
Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services offer a variety of programs and services to assist families in need. CCS Family Centers throughout Western Washington offer support services to families in crisis, as well as services for children who are struggling with family breakup or mental health issues. Several programs offer housing for families with children.
The Family Preservation System provides an array of mental health and social services to families centered around one predominant belief: children need their families and families need their children. Whenever possible, children should grow up within their own families or extended families, and in their own communities.
