Foster Care
We believe in every child growing up in a safe, loving, and nurturing environment.

HomeChildren and YouthFoster Care

Thank you for your interest in Foster Care. We have been providing foster care services to children for more than 80 years. We believe that every child should grow up in a safe, loving and nurturing environment. To that end, our Foster Care Program actively recruits and licenses married couples and single adults who are willing to open their hearts and homes and provide temporary care for foster children. Some children need a home for one day, others one week, and still others may need care for a year or more. No matter how long or short they are in your home, they will stay in your heart forever.

Our foster parents have diverse cultural, ethnic, social and religious backgrounds. They are at least 21 years of age and are stable emotionally and financially. They work collaboratively with staff regarding the needs of and individual plans for the children placed in their homes. They actively participate in on-going trainings. Foster parents receive support from our staff as well as 24-hour access to emergency assistance. Foster parents receive a monthly stipend to assist in the care of a foster child. Medical, dental and daycare costs are covered through the state.

Our foster children range in age from newborn to 18 and are from diverse ethnicities and family backgrounds. Our children are not all the same and therefore our foster families each provide for different types of children. Some families work with teens, some work with infants and toddlers, some work with sibling sets, some are skilled at working with medically fragile children and still others work with children who have special needs. During the licensing process we assess talents, skills and desires of each family to ensure the best possible match.

The need is great and today is your opportunity to make a positive difference in the life of a child.
