Home Families and Individuals Katharine's Place
Katharine’s Place Apartments provides 25 units of low-income family housing in North Rainier Valley. Fifteen (15) units are subsidized by Seattle Housing Authority and ten (10) of these units are designated as transitional housing for homeless families. The remaining ten (10) units are non-subsidized, rent-restricted units with monthly rents, as of June 2010, ranging from $620.00 (1-bedroom) to $875.00 (3-bedroom) per month. Some units are reserved for families with special needs, including families in which one or more household member is disabled and large families of four (4) or more. Additional criteria include meeting applicable income limits, eligible citizenship status and passing a criminal background check.
The Katharine's Place waitlist closed on January 31, 2010. Any application received after January 31, 2010 was not added to the housing waitlist. For applicants already on the waitlist, the average wait time is estimated to be approximately two (2) years. Applicants already on the waitlist are responsible to check in regularly to save their spot and to inform Katharine’s Place staff of any changes to their contact information or household conditions. To check in, please call Cheryl at (206) 722-0717.
Katharine’s Place is always looking for support from community volunteers. Whether you’re interested in physical projects like weeding or interior painting, teaching an afternoon art project to children or hosting a big holiday event, we would love your help! For more information, select the link to the “Katharine’s Place Volunteer Brochure.”
In-kind donations and financial contributions are also greatly appreciated. We’re especially interested in a new basketball hoop for our courtyard! See the “Katharine’s Place Donations Flyer” for more information.
