Home Families and Individuals Katharine's Place
Katharine’s Place Apartments provides 25 units of low-income family housing in North Rainier Valley. Fifteen (15) units are subsidized by Seattle Housing Authority and ten (10) of these subsidized units are designated as transitional housing for homeless families. Families applying for subsidized units must have gross annual incomes below 30% of the area median income (currently $25,290 for a family of four). Families applying for our 2-year transitional housing program must be homeless and willing to work with our on-site Housing Case Manager to develop and follow their own individual goal plan aimed at increasing family stability and self-sufficiency.
The remaining ten (10) units are non-subsidized, rent-restricted units with monthly rents, as of July 2009, ranging from $620.00 (1-bedroom) to $875.00 (3-bedroom) per month. For non-subsidized units, gross monthly household income for eligible families must be at least 2 times the monthly rent and annual gross income must be below 50% of the area median income (currently $42,150 for a family of four). Some units are reserved for families with special needs, including families in which one or more household member is disabled and large families of four (4) or more.
